You are probably aware of the devastating situation of our fellow human beings in New Orleans, where hurricane Katrina swept past only a week ago. One of the saddest things in my humble opinion, is that the authorities - despite receiving several warnings that this could happen - appears to be totally not ready to deal with the situation.
The people trapped in the city need serious help and they need it right now…
Make A Donation
If you want to donate money, please check out www.interaction.org/katrina for an overview of all organisations involved in helping the region. This is a comprehensive web site that not only details what relief organizations are currently engaged in the Gulf coast region, but also describes the scope and scale of their activities. Please donate to one or more of them.
One organisation not listed here but tipped by a reader is http://operationblessing.com
Hurricane Relief Initiatives
My friends Sam Heyer and Lee Raito, who just launched their book Business Sexcess, have decided to donate 100% of their profits to Hurricane Katrina relief. I just received an email from Sam which states:
I’m contacting you in regards to Hurricane Katrina. Lee and I did an interview today and after the call we started talking about Hurricane Katrina and how we could help.
The long and short of it is, after about two minutes we decided to donate 100% of the profits from Business Sexcess to the Katrina relief program. Those people need the money a heck of a lot more then we do right now.
Anyways, I’m contacting you asking for your help. We have a goal to reach $50,000 that we can donate so we are calling (and emailing) everyone we know. I have talked with a lot of my Internet buddies to get them onbaord, but what we want to do is get people either donating a % of their profits or joining with us and spread the word of what we are doing.
We don’t expect anyone to donate 100% because that would be business suicide, but any little bit helps. At minimum we ask if you could spread the word to everyone you know.
We are also looking for bonuses as well (now more than ever) … we want to get the bonuses over a total of $5000. We are at about $1500 and would love if you could offer something.
I’ve donated a free download of Joe Vitale’s Hypnotic Sales Letter Analyzer as a bonus. (I added the link so you can see a description of what this sofware does.)
If you feel you also want to make a contribution to what Sam and Lee are doing, contact me and I’ll get you in touch with Sam. (I’m not putting his email address on-line as spambots are spambots - the hurricane unfortunately didn’t change this…)
Non-Material Help
After the Asian tsunami disaster last Christmas, I wrote a special article about what you can do to help aside from making donations. If you don’t believe in the power of thought and intent yet, please do read as it features the work of Japanese scientist Masuru Emoto and the way he influences the quality of water:
With the severe flooding of New Orleans, this is again a very important topic.
Be Prepared When The Next Disaster Strikes…
Right now I’m painfully aware of my personal limitations in what I can do to help. In the past I’ve made a case about the importance of increasing your wealth so you actually have something substantial to give to the world.
I’ve taken a vow that I will be a millionaire by next year. It takes a lot of work, both on the inside (reprogramming my mind to accept the idea of myself being a wealthy person) and on the outside (mustering up enough energy and discipline to go after this full bore).
Again I want to ask you to seriously consider becoming wealthy. If you want to make a difference in the world, it all starts with your self. The best program I can advice you to join, is Mark Joyner’s Simpleology:
Simple.ology - The Simple Science of Getting What You Want
Otherwise also subscribe to my free ecourse Prosperity Basics to learn about new ways of thinking, enlightened millionaires and more. Comes with a free download of 10 books and one software to help you get started on the road to wealth.
When we all join efforts, little contributions combined can make a huge change in the lives of all the people affected by this disaster. Don’t get stuck at just feeling sorry for the victims.
Take action now!
