Mark took a sip of his espresso and stared hard for almost 15 seconds.

‘… what would *you* do if you suddenly realized that everything you knew about marketing was wrong?’

That’s an actual quote and it cuts to the core of why, after long and careful deliberation, I’ve decided I must say goodbye to you.

I’ll explain why in a second, but first let me tell you a little story.

This is a little story about an event that proved to me, beyond the shadow of a doubt, that most of what is being taught about marketing is wrong.

Yesterday I told you about running a 50K ‘ultra marathon’ and my ordeal with the hornets.

Remember?

If not, don’t worry. I’m only bringing it up for comparison.

I’ve been going through a totally different ordeal at the same time …

One I didn’t tell anyone about.

This one was actually tougher than the hornets and the 50K run.

Yeah, I know. Read on …

Now, this ordeal was not a physical one, but a mental one. I didn’t want to tell anyone at first, but I finally decided I should. Heck, it would be downright irresponsible of me not to share this story with the world.

It all started several months ago when I first met a guy named ‘Mark Joyner.’

Have you heard of him?

Yeah, I know - to some of you that’s like asking ‘have you heard of a guy named Bill Gates?’

But I don’t know you, and I don’t know what you know.

So, I’m going to start at the beginning.

Mark was one of the early pioneers of online business who got his start well over 10 years ago.

Since then, he’s sold millions and millions of dollars in products and services - most of it on a ‘zero dollar’ ad budget. (Yeah, you read that right.)

Many credit him as being the pioneer of the ‘e-book’ and he wrote one that was downloaded over 1,000,000 times.

He has created several websites that reached the top 100 of all websites visited in the world. One of them reached #36 within the first 6 weeks of its release.

He was the pioneer of a great many of the technology, tactics, and ideas you now see used every day on the Internet.

I could go on, but …

That’s the ‘old’ Mark Joyner.

You probably don’t know the ‘new’ Mark Joyner.

A couple years ago, Mark closed down his businesses (he owned several and had 45 employees before he decided to shut everything down).

His announcement was a big shock to everyone, but people accepted it and he disappeared for about two years before he came back into public view very recently.

It was strange seeing him come back after his big ‘farewell’ but just about everyone shrugged and accepted it and welcomed him back - glad that he was back on the scene.

Now, that’s the public story and most people already know this if they haven’t been under a rock these last few years.

The private story is actually far more interesting.

Want to know what *really* happened to Mark?

I’m in a rare position to know.

I was able to spend quite a few hours with Mark in a cafe close to his condo in South Beach and he told me something that at first was very hard to accept.

We joked around a bit and talked marketing tactics (Mark is hilarious and would give his shirt off his back to help someone), then he grew silent …

Mark took a sip of his espresso and stared at me hard for almost 15 seconds.

‘ … what would *you* do if you suddenly realized that everything you knew about marketing was wrong?’

I get chills up my spine every time I think of that moment. That was the beginning of the end for me.

Those of you who know Mark know that he’s the kind of guy that can totally shift your worldview in just a short conversation.

He is, truly, a genius.

That’s said about a great many people, but there are very few genuine visionaries who have the ability to change the world every time they open their mouths.

Mark is one of them.

What Mark proceed to tell me was nothing short of astounding.

I’m still reeling from what he revealed in that conversation. I didn’t quite understand how important and, well, revolutionary these ideas were, but I do now.

I’m going to reveal this information to you in a second, but first let me give you a small inkling of how important this information is.

Have you ever heard of ‘Joe Vitale?’ You probably have. He’s probably the most well-read (and one of the most well-respected) marketers alive.

He’s a living legend and he had this to say about Mark’s new book that reveals this new marketing concept:

‘I’ve read every book on marketing printed in the last 150 years. This is the first breakthrough in over 50 years.’

  • Hint #1: this is the concept that Domino’s pizza unwittingly used to turn a one-store operation into a multi-billion-dollar-a-year phenomenon.
  • Hint #2: You don’t know it yet, but it’s actually the single factor that turned Fed Ex into a global phenomenon.
  • Hint #3: It’s not a marketing concept you’ve ever heard of before. It’s totally brand new.
  • Hint #4: It’s going to completely change the way you view marketing, yourself, your relationships, and the world.

Click on the link below and I will:

A. Reserve you a seat on a live tele-class where Mark brings these tactics to life in a live demonstration of viral marketing

B. Tell you the name of his newest product and show you how to get it immediately (sorry, you can’t get it before the teletraining, and you are going to find out why!)

So, what does this have to do with saying ‘goodbye?’ Well, the old me is gone now, too. The same way the old Mark is.

And I think this may be the last message the old you ever reads as well.

I didn’t want to say this in the beginning of this letter as it would have seemed solicitous, but this may in fact be the most important message I have ever wrote you …

… and the start of a new era.

I’ll see you Friday night.

Thought that message was mine?

No way I could produce this!

This email actually is from a conversation, a private meeting between Tellman Knudson and Mark Joyner. Tellman was sitting at that cafe, and Tellman is also Mark’s partner in this revolutionairy
project. You are going to get to learn from them both when you go and get registered for this special training!

There! Now you know. Telllman Knudson and his partner Jodi were the brilliant email marketers I was referring to earlier. And they have become experts in listbuilding and viral marketing as well…

-Patricia Ritsema van Eck

P.S.
I’ll be staying up late again on Friday to be on that call myself. I’m counting on you to be there too!
