You know, I always kind of enjoy all the excitement going on with these kind of big promos. I remember quite well when Joe first released his Hypnotic Selling Secrets course. It was October 2004 and I was totally emersed in creating software with my new MYOS toy. So when Joe announced his launch, I signed up for his affiliate program and decided to create a very viral piece of software branded with my affiliate link.

It wasn’t much of a success…

Well, the software was pretty cool and lots of people really liked it. My problem was that being a perfectionist and all, I didn’t get it ready to go out till 12 hours before the actual launch. And not having a substantial list to promote it too, even ‘extremely viral software’ isn’t passed around quick enough within that time frame…

But it was fun and a great learning experience. I very much enjoyed the webcast Joe did the night of his launch. And my software ended up on the list of bonuses which did have a substantial impact on my subscriber’s list. (The great thing about having a small list is that you still pop open the champagne when you get 300 new subscribers in one week - a 500% increase for me at the time!

Tonight I spent a couple of hours ranting about the poor quality of so many internet offers with a dear friend from Florida. It wasn’t that long ago that I shelled out 997 bucks for a product which claimed it would change internet marketing forever.

When it finally arrived after a whole month of waiting, 7 of the 8 DVD cases had been severely damaged during transport. The manual - though it really contained some great information - had 5 typos on average for each page. I’ll be the last to claim I can produce a faultless product, but if I’d be asking customers to pay me $997 I’d be darn sure to hire a professional editor, package the stuff to survive international freight transport and ship it off with priority mail!

Am I going to buy again from this guy?

Not likely!

But I did learn an aweful lot while watching the whole launch roll out. Particularly from what went wrong. And I added all these points to my checklist. Things to pay attention to when I launch a product myself. And what I definitely should not do…

Without paying a penny you now have the opportunity to experience a big product promo yourself. Unfortunately you can only tell in retrospect what went well and what was poorly conducted. But since Joe Vitale is really experienced it is quite likely that you will learn a lot from what you should do when launching a product yourself.

Afterthought … I really find it distasteful the way some guys (sorry, but yes, it’s mostly the guys who are guilty it seems…) unscrupulously will squeeze your hard-earned money out of your pocket while selling you junk. Joe’s products are different. They are definitely not junk.

If you can afford the investment, you have my word that you will not be disappointed with the Hypnotic Selling Secrets package. And if you cannot afford it, still make sure you don’t miss all of the free marketing lessons that Joe is giving you for being on the Priority Notification list.
