Membership Sites Rule

It’s no secret that I love membership sites. Good membership sites have so much to offer that it’s a joy to return again and again. And when you sell your own products or services online, a membership site is an excellent way to package this. Plus it’s easier in maintenance than a regular (static) content site.
Some time ago Mike Filsaime released his Butterfly Marketing Manuscript which reveals the marketing strategies involved with successful membership sites. This is an excellent manuscript and I’ve implemented much of these strategies in my own membership sites. But the focus is on the marketing and not on how to actually build a membership site.
Last week Jason James released a new manuscript called Membership Riches which is more like the practical guide to membership sites.
Jason does a good job on explaining what membership sites are and how they’ve grown in popularity over the past few years. More importantly, he explains the different membership site models and offers step-by-step guidance in setting these up.
You know how all digital selling follows the 4 steps for manifesting money out of thin electrons, right?
- Create a product.
- Create a delivery mechanism.
- Create a marketing message.
- Bring people to your marketing message.
Membership sites are the ultimate delivery mechanism - the ultimate way to deliver your product or service. They are perhaps more complicated in setting up then when you use a simple sales system like ’sales page -> order form -> payment page -> thank you page’, but in return they will enable you to create a web community where you’ll find your members coming back to you again and again.
And as all marketers know: it’s so much easier to sell to a satisfied customer than it is to sell to a ‘cold’ prospect.
Membership sites are the best place to build relationships, dazzle with content and service and make recurring sales!
So setting one up involves a couple more technical steps. And you need to pay extra attention to how you build your content. But once it’s set up properly, the good membership sites will run mostly on autopilot and require little maintenance. Though you have to take into account that your members expect fresh content or new products on a regular basis, so it’s not like a site you can set up and forget about!
All this is again covered in depth in Jason’s Membership Riches. It’s written in a clear and understandable way. And Jason isn’t hyping it up but giving a very realistic picture on what your chances of success are and what’s needed from you to achieve your goals.
I really liked this manuscript and I highly recommend it:

In addition to the script Jason also has some very cool bonuses to go with it. One of them is a private interview with Mike Filsaime, who’s probably the most experienced membership site marketer around these days. I very much enjoyed listening to this one. Though I read Mike’s manuscript too, the interview gave me new insights and good tips.
You can check out the other bonuses here:

Whether you want to make money with your site or simply offer a nice online community for like minded people, you will have a much higher chance of succeeding when you use the membership site model.
Have a great week!
