Do and don’t do in email marketing

It’s been less than a week ago since you last heard from me, but there is a very good reason why I couldn’t postpone the follow-up on my recent questions to you. More about this in a sec…

Thank you to everyone who responded the last couple of days. All but one person agreed on the fact that daily emails is too much.

Here’s a summary of all the lessons about email marketing that were spontaneously shared:

If you email your list, make sure it’s really worth their time… Dom Delimar - comments #7 and #8
One of the few valid reasons to mail daily is when the content is part of a series on a particular subject… KC - comment #9
In addition, it is sometimes better to combine short messages into one substantial email… Camilo Buitrago - comment #3

When you bombard people with offers, they generally don’t make the best buying decisions and refund requests increase. They are NOT trying to rip you off. It was only when their heads cleared they found out they simply didn’t have a use for your product… Sunny Rivers - comment #13

These are all good tips, I gave it a 5 out of 5. The emails that I get everyday do make me numb that I don’t even open them. I might keep it there for awhile, only to delete it without opening. A very good tip.
